(1987 dark brown 16.2 Oldenburg Stallion)
For many years, Donnerschlag was the top sire of Gestut St. Ludwig's stud of Germany, where he left a distinctive mark on an era of breeding. His sire, Donnerhall, was a stallion of legendary proportion. Pirola, his dam, was a full sister to the famous Pik Bube I. Donnerschlag has produced numerous approved sons, including Dream of Heidelberg, Donnerwind, Donnerluck, Donnerfurst, Diamond Dancer and Donnergold. Donnerschlag was imported in 2000 and stands at Fairwind Farm in Santa Rosa, California. In the United States, he is approved by the North American division of the Oldenburg Verband and by the American Hanoverian Society.
